The Best Piece🧩Of Advice📜I Was Given About Having a Hobby🕹️

When I was 23, Wael Al Alqam gave me an unforgettable piece of advice.

I was just starting to get interested in Travelling🧳and had been running myself ragged trying to achieve💯countries. But, like most beginners, I was making a lot of mistakes: Spending too much to Travel, Taking Paid & Unpaid leaves i.e. 150 days, and not taking care of my Health🫀.

Until one day, Wael Al Alqam said to me:

"Pick a Hobby, That You Don't Have To Spend A Penny On"

That day, my whole life trajectory changed.

When you spend on what you enjoy then you only enjoy until your money💵last. Your pockets dictate how much you enjoy life.

As soon as you have other expenses in life to take care of, this is the first thing that gets sacrificed 🐏. Without this, you do not have downtime and life keeps on getting in the way until you drop this hobby completely.

So I choose to read 📕, workout💪🏼and invest💰.

  • Reading is free. Read journals, articles, books, and Pdfs.
  • Workout is free. You don't need a gym🏋🏼, pushups for the upper body, squats for the lower, and sit-ups for the core. There are variations of pushups, sit-ups, and core workouts. Download the free NikeTrainingClub app for that.
  • Invest, not passively by saving. But actively by paying to set up your business💼. You can find people on websites like Upwork, Fiverr, and People Per Hour.

You need to be able to enjoy without the need to keep on working to pay and then paying to enjoy.

Tell me about the best advice that you received and what you did differently moving forward.
