The 5 Seconds⏰ Rule: If you don’t do it in 5 seconds then you’ll never do it.

The 5 Seconds⏰ Rule: If you don’t do it in 5 seconds then you’ll never do it.

Regret doesn’t come from trying and failing
Regret comes from not trying

heard this statement before?

and guess what, most of the time we are not trying

our brains🧠 are hard-wired to protect us

  • from accidents 🚗
  • from being mocked, ridiculed, belittled 🤡
  • from suffering loss 🩸

have you ever tried to interrupt the patterns and behavior that are not letting you engage

deliberately not doing things or hiding isn't going to help you. Austin Kleon

The 5-second rule by Mel Robbins(click on her name to watch the video, it's worth more than reading this) dictates that if you have an impulse to do something then you have to take an action in 5 seconds, or your brain pulls a hand brake and takes you to safety i.e. routine mediocre life.

The least you can do if you don’t take action is write it down as a note(writing it down counts as an aciton).

Write it in your journal, clearly one thought per page, that's what I did for 20 years. I wrote on my wall(not Facebook wall but on my room’s wall).

Coz your brain is for having ideas and not for storing them, the Arabs have a saying:

العلم صيد والكتابة قيد
knowledge is prey, and writing it down is its imprisonment
