1 Tip πŸ’Ž I Would Give Someone Who Wanted To Get Started Working In IT πŸ’» Industry 🏭

Do you want to get started working in IT?

I have been working in Information and Communications Technology for 20 years now(since my teenage). And What I can tell you is that in order to work in this industry you need to know that

  • keep a schedule πŸ—“οΈ to constantly update your certifications coz you will be outdated no matter what,
  • there are people who will come from other parts of the world and accept to work for much less πŸ’΅ than you can
  • Networking: talking to people is just as good as talking to machines πŸ€–. Humanity isn't dead yet, Networking helps you get Jobs. It's not what you know, it's who you know.

So, here's the 1 tip I would give you if you wanted to pursue a similar career path:

Make the Shift to IT ManagementπŸ‘¨πŸΌβ€πŸ’Ό

Being techy is fun πŸŽ‰, and you are always one step ahead of others, but the fun doesn't last forever. It isn't fun to always be on your toes, without any vertical movement up the career ladder.

Make a Shift to IT Management or Consulting, or you will always be on the helpdesk team, with grayπŸ‘¨πŸΌβ€πŸ¦½hair even will the certifications.

There are many companies that would love to hire people with IT backgrounds, I'll list a few for you.

The Big 4 Audit Companies namely Deloitte, EY, KPMG, and PwC.

The Big 3 strategy consulting firms, are McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, and Bain & Company.
